Simple Gifts

Last week a student from the Nebraska City rug camp sent me photos of her finished rug.
Love the way she incorporated several of the new techniques she learned in the class. Great job Jeannette!

Cincinnati Ladies

Back again for another Saturday lesson, today they wanted to learn how to do proddy. Started with a simple heart,a couple are hooking the heart and doing a proddy edge to finish it, but Deb decided to proddy the whole thing. Off to a great start. Debbie brought her crazy quilt rug that she continues to work on, she getting there.

Needle Night

Last night was a small gathering, but had a couple of new friends stop in. Kathy brought a photo of her ducks that she's going to hook on some of my hand dyed linen. She also started hooking her sheep for the Sauder rug show challenge. Bonnie's doing a cover for a footstool using pennies, and Donna brought her the drawing of her dog on linen ready for hooking. And Donna brought her newest steam punk rug to share. Amazing!!!

All Day Stitching

Saturday was our 2nd annual January all day stitch in. Nothing beats the winter blahs more than getting together with friends, laughing, sharing, eating and stitching on our current projects. Two new grandmas are working on special pieces that will soon decorate the rooms of these precious new babies, different projects made during the holidays, a quick little heart kit put together for everyone to do, and on going projects. Such a great time, always look forward to spending time with these ladies!

Primitive Quilts Spring Issue

On the news stands now, Primitive Quilts 2015 spring issue. I have a small, simple reverse appliqué piece found on page 57.  Thought I would also share a rug hook piece I have done using the same pattern, with a few embellishments. It includes, felting, appliqué, beading, and standing wool circles. Remember, patterns can always be adapted to the the medium you want to work in, think outside the box!
