Woolley Fox Rug Camp

I have returned from an amazing, fun filled week in Ligonier, PA.

It started with a quick visit with my cousin and her family.  I had to share some photos of her animal family.  She is helping take care of these orphaned lambs until they are big enough to return to the herd.  The Angora rabbits she keeps for the fiber to spin.  This is one very busy household.

Once at the camp, we jumped right in working on a variety of different rugs.  Most of my students all started new projects this week.

Monday evening we were all invited to Barb's for a wonderful reception.  Unbeknownst to her it was also a surprise celebration (organized by her daughter, Robin) of the Woolley Fox's 20 years in business.  Congratulations Barb!!  I couldn't get enough of her beautiful surroundings, warm and charming hardly say enough.  Rugs and other handiwork, old and new everywhere.  Amazing eye-candy.

Tuesday evening I taught a quick needle felted bag.  Most had never done it before.  Fun results.

Wednesday was the rug show in the town hall.  There were also beautiful antique coverlets on display from the National Museum of American Coverlet in Bedford, PA and a charming display of children's artwork from the local schools.  These beautiful rugs speak for themselves, but had to include some of the kid's work.

Back to camp with a few photos from my fellow teachers, student projects.

Last day we previewed the rugs my students worked on through the week.  Lots of fun techniques taught and used.  Can't wait to see them finished!
