Elaine's Stool

My talented student and friend Elaine Cathcart just sent me photos of her amazing footstool. She started this piece in class with me at Woolley Fox camp in May, then finished it in class at Wool Sisters in Al.[ you can go back in the blog and see the progression] She painted the stool to match, and upholstered it when she returned home It was so much fun working with her as she was interested in trying anything to get a fun, funky artistic piece. You'll see felting, coiled circles, applique, clipped loops, couching, etc. etc., and many diferent fibers besides wool. Great job Elaine, I LOVE IT!!!!

One Stop Shop Hop

Had a great weekend in Fairborn at the Hope Hotel vending at this shop hop. What a great idea to pull 20 quilt shops (and suppliers) together in one place. Lots of fun and tempting eye candy.

Needle Night

A great night at Susie's tonite, wonderful food, a tour of her beautiful gardens, and Bonnie brought her finished appliqué piece to share (she is putting this in a transom window)  The rest of us just spent the evening catching up, good times! We'll stitch the next time

Hooking Club

Hooking, knitting and punch needle all going on last night.  Brittney’s rug is coming along great, I’m sure she’ll have it done to give to her friend in September.  My friend, Donna Hrkman is teaching a workshop here in town this week, and several of these ladies are attending.  Here tonight working on color plans, and hooking.

Next month we’re at the Sauder Rug Show!

Embellish Class

Had a few ladies in today to show a variety of things they could do with their new embellishers.  They had fun trying lots of different fibers and techniques that they can use for creating projects in the future.
