Rug Guild Meeting

I don't always get to attend our ATHA guild meetings, but today was an exception, and what fun.
Lots going on as you can see, all the sunflowers are for a special exhibit at Sauder in Aug. One of our members did a little talk on making and finishing pins, ornaments and mug mats and brought her collection, wonderful. The rest are just a few of the rugs being worked on tonite.

On this Memorial Day I want to thank all service people and their families for the sacrifices they make and have made for our freedoms. God Bless America!

Pearls

I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens, but just those simple pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string. (Anne of Green Gables) Enjoy your pearls, Happy Mother's Day!

Woolley Fox Rug Camp

Just returned home after spending a delightful and creative week in Ligonier, PA. What fun we had! I had a group of enthusiastic and creative ladies ready to try whatever I shared with them. I think we will see more and more different techniques and fibers used in future rugs, yeah!

Betsy Reed (Heaven's to Betsy) was another teacher who was there and I got pics of some of her pieces as she was setting up, LOVE those torn strips and standing wool with wide cuts!

Then we move on to Barb's beautiful home for an evening of good food and fun! She has the most amazing collections of all sorts of wonderful things we all love.

Students working away on their samplers

Four friends that have been working with Barb on their bed rugs. Wow!

Working away in class and on the extra sheep pillow project

Now we move on to the rug show from the all the students, remarkable work! Pics don't do them
justice.

Pics of the rugs in progress from my students and others in Betsy's, Barb's and  Katie's class.
Cannot not wait to see some finished products! Opened up a whole new world to my students!

If you have not had an opportunity to attend this camp I would highly recommend it! Although it was Barb and Robin's last time to run the camp( after 21 years) they have placed it in the very capable hands of Katie Hartner. Check it out!
