Halloween Blog Hop : Black Cat

BLACK CAT  {Click here for the pattern}

Necessities
- two 10" x 15" pieces of fabric for cat (wool works great, switch it up and use a texture)
- a tiny scrap of red wool for the nose, and gold for the eyes
- tan floss
- stuffing
- 3-5 walnuts, orange acrylic paint and a black marker to make the swag the cat holds

Directions
- place the two pieces of fabric right sides together and trace the pattern for the body and the arms.
- sew on the traced line leaving an opening to turn right side out. Clip, trim and turn right side out
- stuff the cat, sew opening closed
- stuff the arms, close the top with a gathering stitch, and attach to the body where indicated by the dots on the pattern.
- cut out the nose and two circles for eyes, sew them in place with a whip stitch. Using the tan floss, back stitch the line down from the nose and the mouth.
- use the black marker and make the center dot on the eyes, or stitch them with black floss.
- for the swag, paint 3-5 walnuts orange, then using the black marker draw a jack o lantern face on each one. Drill small holes through the walnuts near the top, using the floss string them onto a branch, wire or wrap a pipe cleaner.

  1. Thank you! What a cute idea to paint walnuts for the Jack-o-lanterns! They would be cute as bowl fillers, too.
